Two instrumental rock bands from East Asia with international influence and a global perspective: Wang Wen and JAMBINAI—are set to embark on a six-city Asian tour in July. As leading bands in the Chinese and Korean instrumental rock scenes respectively, Wang Wen and JAMBINAI each incorporate reflections on their local environments into their exploratory musical styles, creating unique musical styles that have made significant impacts worldwide. They have also found resonance with each other. Notably, the Tokyo and Osaka stops of this Asia Tour will feature a “special project” live performance, joining forces with the internationally renowned Japanese instrumental rock band MONO to present a dream “Romance of the Three Kindoms” lineup that post-rock fans have long desired, offering a performance deeply imbued with Oriental romanticism. This is a rare opportunity not to be missed!
In 2023, Wang Wen already performed two new albums in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. Their soul-stirring live performances left a lasting impression on the audience. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Wang Wen. Following the release of their 25th anniversary live compilation album “All Yesterday’s Parties”, Wang Wen will return to Taiwan. They will be joined by JAMBINAI, a representative of Korean instrumental rock music (this is also their first performance in Taiwan), and they look forward to everyone joining this brand-new gathering.

JAMBINAI(KR)
JAMBINAI play a surging, dramatic form of metal-infused post-rock using traditional folk instruments of Korea. The band has received acclaim for its riveting performances as well as their ambitious recordings, such as 2019’s ONDA and 2022’s apparition.JAMBINAI sounds less like a band than a force of nature, fusing the full dramatic range of post-rock dynamics to Korean folk roots to create an exhilarating, vivid and unique fusion.Their instrumental music is coloured by Bomi Kims haegeum, Ilwoo Leess guitar and piri and EunYoung Sims geomungo. They met studying traditional music at Korea’s National University of Arts, and found they were united by a desire to present such music in a new way, “to communicate with the ordinary person who doesn`t listen to Korean tradional music”.
